When Nothing Else Was Right: A Dana Sloan Mystery
by Carol Costa
"Dana Sloan and Detective Al Bruno are at it again, putting a stop to crime in a chase that takes them to the bright lights of Las Vegas and the dark side of Los Angeles, as author Carol Costa once again weaves and unravels a page-turner tale of kidnapping, greed, murder and retribution as only she can." ~ Jim Woods, author of She Serpent, Gunshot Echoes, and Assasination Safari.
"...a whodunit that will keep you guessing from the first to the last page. ...a twisty-turvy ride of missing persons, crossed mobsters, and more than one affair of the heart. A most enjoyable read." ~ Jude Johnson author of Dragon & Hawk.
Dana's investigation into the disappearance of a talented singer, who has run off with money belonging to the mob, is sidetracked when the girl's husband confesses to killing her. The confession is a lie and the case quickly becomes a dangerous web of deceptions and related crimes. Identity theft, murder, and an attempt on Dana's life send her across the country to find the missing girl before the mob catches up with her. For once, Dana and her boyfriend, Detective Al Bruno, are working a case together, and uncover new evidence that heals a family torn apart by tragedy nineteen years earlier.
When Nothing Else Was Right is the third book in the Dana Sloan mystery series. Dana Sloan is an investigative reporter created for the Women Sleuth Anthologies published by The Crossing Press. These novels combine mystery, great characters, and humor.
The first two books in the Dana Sloan series, A Deadly Hand, and The Master Plan, are being released as mass-market paperbacks by Harlequin’s Worldwide Mysteries imprint in 2011 and 2012.
"Fast-paced with intriguing plot twists and surprises for everyone, the third Dana Sloan mystery is another hit!" ~ Ashleen O'Gaea author of The Portable Spell Book and three novels about witchcraft.
